PlayBrain developed the Japanese localized identity for Electronic Arts’ mobile title, SimCity BuildIt. The title had previously been using the original English logo since its launch. With the new identity, SimCity BuildIt is able to better connect with Japanese players without sacrificing brand identity.
The identity utilized the strong brand image of “SimCity” in its well known English typography, with a smaller Japanese katakana script version to help Japanese players with pronunciation. “BuildIt”, not having the same brand identity was expressed just in Japanese below.
