Red Bull 5G, is an eSports tournament to crown the best gamers in 5 different games from 5 genres of gaming in Japan. PlayBrain’s Mike Sheetal developed the concept in collaboration with Red Bull, and also directed the creative and several events.

Working with game partners such as Electronic Arts (Sports: FIFA12 and FPS: Battlefield 3), Polyphony (Racing: Gran Turismo 5), Capcom (Fighting: Streetfighter X Tekken) and Sega (Free Genre: Puyo Puyo), 5G has been bringing a truly unique eSports tournament to Japan since 2012. In its first year, the final event was held at Womb in Tokyo, pitting two teams qualified across all titles from East and West Japan. East Japan won in front of a full house and an audience of more than 70,000 people watching live online.
